Hello! My name is Anthony Cordero. I am a senior at Mount Saint Mary College. In December of 2018 I will be graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and a minor in Psychology. Additionally, I am working towards earning a dual certification in Adolescent and Special Education. After Commencement in May 2018, I will begin my student teaching experience in Fall 2018.
Since Spring 2017, I have been a member of the Teacher Opportunity Corps. This is a program that enhances teacher preparation by addressing the needs of students at risk of truancy, academic failure, or dropping out of school; additionally, this program is designed to increase the participation of historically underrepresented and economically disadvantaged individuals in teaching careers. Since October of 2017, I have been interning in the Newburgh School District as a teaching intern at South Middle School. I assist with planning and executing lessons in 8th grade Mathematics, and Honors Algebra I.
In the past, I have been involved in various clubs including Improvology, Different Stages, and Anime Club. During the 2015-2016 year, I was the treasurer of Different Stages. During my time in each clubs, I learned many aspects of theater, and how it can help me think outside the box with my field of study.
Throughout this website, you will see work that I have done, my Philosophy on Teaching Mathematics, and other math oriented pages.
